Out-of-favour attacking prospect Harry Wilson has completed a season-long loan move to Cardiff City, Liverpool FC confirmed on the club’s official website, liverpoolfc.com.
The Welsh international had been largely tipped to leave the Reds this summer on the back of his loan spell last season at AFC Bournemouth, where he failed to make much of the first-team opportunities awarded to him by Eddie Howe.
However, Wilson was unable to find a suitable club for him to sign for on a permanent basis before October 5’s deadline day of the transfer window, with Burnley’s pursuit of him being turned down by Liverpool FC for financial reasons.
The 23-year old was then expected to depart Anfield in another loan deal, however, early candidates Swansea City’s approach was rebuffed by the Reds over the payment of a loan fee, and Cardiff City entered the pole position to sign the Welshman.

Wilson’s first-team future in the Liverpool FC shirt looks rather bleak, and only a fantastic series of showings for Cardiff in the Championship will be able to convince Jurgen Klopp and the Merseyside outfit otherwise, who will be pocketing a fee worth £1.2 million on loaning out the winger to the Welsh side.
