In an announcement that is set to delight a large section of Liverpool FC supporters, RB Salzburg chief Cristoph Freund has claimed that he expects star striker Erling Haaland to play in the Liverpool FC colours in the near future.
The highly-rated forward, who has been a major success at Borussia Dortmund since his move to the Bundesliga side last year from Salzburg, has had his name linked with a number of top European clubs all summer, with Manchester United and Real Madrid just two of the many sides wanting to pursue his signing.
However, for now, the 20-year-old is enjoying the time of his life at Dortmund, but Freund’s recent claims that the ex-Salzburg attacker could land at Anfield in the coming years is bound to stroke about anticipation amongst the Reds’ faithful, according to reports from Goal.
“He will land there [ Liverpool],” said Freund.
He added to Sky90: “He can play for any club in the world. With his mentality, his will and self confidence, he will be able to make a mark on European football in the next ten years.
There are a number of first-team forward options in the Liverpool FC ranks, but with Divock Origi speculated to be on the verge of leaving Anfield, Haaland’s addition to the squad will always come as a welcome boost for Jurgen Klopp and Co.
