West Ham star Declan Rice showers praise on Jordan Henderson’s impact on England squad

Jordan Henderson’s England teammate Declan Rice has heaped praise on the Liverpool FC skipper, terming Henderson’s professionalism on the pitch as a very positive aspect of the 30-year-old’s style of play.

The Reds midfield star has been in flying form for both club and country over the last couple of years, leading Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool FC to the Champions League and Premier League titles in consecutive seasons, and establishing himself as a regular fixture in the England national setup under the charge of Gareth Southgate.

Rice, himself an up and coming star in the Three Lions’ squad, was full of praise for the Liverpool FC man while speaking to reporters ahead of England’s UEFA Nations League meeting against Belgium, saying that he learns a lot from Henderson’s experience while playing alongside him on the pitch.

“I think if you look at Jordan what he’s done in the game for his whole career really, but especially the last couple of years, I think it’s so important for someone like me to be playing next to him, to learn, to get better.

“I think the main thing I pick up from him is we already know his qualities on the ball, but you don’t realise until you’re playing next to him his leadership qualities and what he actually brings to the team.

“He’s non-stop, always on you in a good way, in a positive way and that gives you the confidence on the pitch to go out there and fight for the badge.”

It is not the first time a major football figure has sounded out high praise for the Liverpool FC skipper, and certainly won’t be the last, going by Henderson’s ever-growing importance in the centre of the park for both club and country.
