Liverpool drawn to face RB Leipzig in UEFA Champions League Last-16

Liverpool FC will face a tough test in the Last-16 of the UEFA Champions League as the Merseysiders have been drawn to go up against German outfit RB Leipzig, according to reports from The Mirror.

Jurgen Klopp’s men advanced to the knockout stages of Europe’s most elite club competition after topping Group D, with the Reds fending off competition from the likes of Atalanta and Ajax, beating the latter 1-0 at Anfield a fortnight back to secure qualification.

Leipzig, meanwhile, had to hand a brilliant 3-2 loss to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United in the crunch group stage fixture to seal their fate in the Last-16 of the tournament.

The first game of the two-legged tie will be played at Leipzig’s home on 16th February while Liverpool FC will play hosts to the Bundesliga side at Anfield on 12th March.

Liverpool FC’s drawn opponents in the UCL have got off to a brilliant start across all competitions, with Julian Nagelsmann’s side seated third in the Bundesliga standings, just a point adrift of league leaders Bayer Leverkusen.
