Udinese star midfielder Rodrigo De Paul has reportedly caught the eye of Jurgen Klopp at Anfield as the Liverpool FC boss is eyeing a move for the 26-year-old come the summer of 2021.
First-team midfield options are aplenty at Klopp’s disposal, for the time being, however, the long-term future of Gini Wijnaldum looking anything but certain, the gaffer would be convinced of scouting the market for alternative options.
Rodrigo De Paul is one such name that has stood out in recent seasons on the back of his consistent showings for both club and country, with the Argentine international making a mark in the Serie A with Luca Gotti’s Udinese, scoring thrice and registering two assists so far this season.
According to reports from the Daily Mail, Liverpool FC’s intentions of signing De Paul would be strongly rivalled by fellow Premier League club Leeds United, who have been after the Udinese star man since last summer.
The Elland Road outfit, in their first season in English top-flight football, have displayed a great brand of attacking football and coach Marcelo Bielsa is hoping to improve upon his side’s fortunes with a signing of De Paul’s calibre.
Leeds’ interest in the midfielder is bound to take a turn following speculation of Jurgen Klopp being keen on making a move for De Paul, leaving the 26-year-old with a big decision to make concerning his next destination should he land in England.
