Jurgen Klopp chasing Brighton first-teamer Yves Bissouma

Jurgen Klopp is wanting to step up his approach for Brighton midfield star Yves Bissouma as the Anfield giants fret over Gini Wijnaldum’s long-term future in the Reds shirt beyond this summer.

Bissouma’s recent streak of sparkling displays in the centre of the park for Graham Potter’s men seems to have convinced a number of top-flight clubs across the country to make the Mali international a player to target come the summer transfer window of 2021.

The Liverpool FC boss is understood to be keen on adding the Brighton first-team regular to his already well-stocked midfield department at Anfield but Klopp is certain to face a major battle to land Bissouma’s signing from top-flight rivals Arsenal, according to reports from the Express.

Mikel Arteta’s side also remain on the hunt for midfield reinforcements this summer and should the likes of Mesut Ozil and the on-loan Dani Ceballos depart in the coming months, the North London outfit will turn their focus towards signing the 24-year-old Bissouma.

The Gunners will not go down without giving a tough fight to the Merseyside Reds for Bissouma’s signature as both clubs enter this summer’s transfer window with the Brighton star’s name firm on their radar.
