Derby County starlet Kaide Gordon courts interest from Liverpool

Liverpool FC and Manchester United look to battle it out off the field as well it seems, with reports from Sky Sports claiming that both Premier League heavyweights are maintaining a strong interest in making a move for Derby’s 16-year-old attacking sensation Kaide Gordon.

Gordan has earnt huge plaudits for his showings in the Championship over the last couple of months and new boss Wayne Rooney could be set to lose out on the highly-prized attacker this January transfer window.

Manchester United seem confident over sealing Gordan’s signature, with ex-United star Rooney’s appointment to the Derby managerial job easing worries for the Old Trafford outfit on the transfer front.

Jurgen Klopp’s intentions of adding quality young talent to the ranks at Anfield are well documented and the rise of Curtis Jones up the pecking order since the backend of last season shows that the Liverpool FC gaffer remains keen on utilising youth expertise for his side’s gain.

A partly fee worth £2 million is reportedly being sought after by Derby County to part ways with the teenage starlet as the second-tier club heads into a transition period of ownership over the next fortnight or so.
