Wijnaldum remains firm over sealing Liverpool exit in the summer

Wantaway Liverpool FC star Gini Wijnaldum is one step away from finalising a move away from Anfield in the summer transfer window as the Express claims that the Holland international has turned down repeated attempt from the Merseyside outfit to extend his stay at the club.

The 29-year-old’s intentions of reuniting with former Dutch national team boss Ronald Koeman, who is now in charge of FC  Barcelona, is understood to be a major reason behind the midfielder’s desire to switch his playing field after nearly five years in the Liverpool FC colours.

Reports suggest that the La Liga giants are quite keen on making an approach for Wijnaldum, with his deal with Jurgen Klopp’s side expiring in less than six months and that the player has become increasingly eager on securing a move to Camp Nou.

Wijnaldum’s desired hike in wages were believed to be a stalling point in the prolonged contractual talks between the Dutchman and Liverpool FC as rumours persisted that the former Newcastle United man wanted to pocket a salary that was being commanded by the likes of Mohammad Salah and Virgil van Dijk at Anfield.

Any last-minute attempts from Klopp and Co. to persuade Wijanldum on putting pen to paper on improved terms are likely to be rebuffed by the player.
