Sadio Mane confident of Liverpool returning to their best for Manchester United clash

Liverpool FC are raring to return to winning ways ahead of Sunday’s mouth-watering top-flight clash against Manchester United, insists Reds star forward Sadio Mane.

In an interview with the club’s official website, the Senegalese international admitted that the Merseysiders had been misfiring on all fronts in recent weeks, with Jurgen Klopp’s men having picked up just two points across their last three league outings.

Manchester United’s visit to Anfield over the weekend comes at a point where both teams are enjoying quite contrasting spells in recent form, with the Old Trafford outfit’s recent win over Burnley taking them three points clear at the summit while Mane and Co. endured misery in a defeat to Southampton.

The 28-year-old attacker, however, remains confident over his team’s chances to perform on their very best when facing Ole Gunnar Solskajer’s men at home turf as the former Saints man said that the Merseysiders were pushing for consistency week in and week out following their tumbling form of late.

“It was a few difficult weeks for us, which was complicated for everyone in the dressing room. But as we’ve always said, it’s part of football – you have to deal with it and try to get back to winning ways, which for us is normal.”

“We are fighting every single day at the training ground to be consistent each week on the pitch. Now I think we are looking forward to the game, which’ll be a tough one.”

“But we’re looking forward to it and will do everything possible to try to win it.”
