Nat Phillips was labelled as a ‘monster in the air’ by former Liverpool FC man Jamie Carragher in the aftermath of Phillips putting in another splendid showing for Jurgen Klopp’s side in the 1-0 win over Wolves.
The Merseysiders broke their recent run of woeful form in top-flight action on their travels to the Midlands, with a first-half stoppage-time strike from Diogo Jota against his old club proving the matchwinner for Liverpool FC.
Phillips was once again paramount in his performance for the Anfield giants on Monday night and followed up last week’s man-of-the-match worthy showing against Leipzig in the Champions League with another solid display at the Molineux Stadium.
According to reports from the Mirror, Carragher was lavish in his praise for the 23-year-old Reds defender, who has impressed one and all with his recent showings in the heart of an injury-ravaged Liverpool FC backline.
“He played a huge role in the game and he [Phillips] is a monster in the air.
“So when you talk about what Liverpool lack when other ones are playing, they get a great deal in terms of defending set-pieces and his ability in the air.
“He’s a real monster in that position.”
