Everton star Richarlison has revealed that his private apology issued towards Liverpool FC midfield maestro Thiago Alcantara following their coming together earlier this season was ignored by the Spanish international.
The Toffees forward was given the marching orders off the Goodison Park turf last October when the two Merseyside foes were involved in a 2-2 affair for a rash challenge by him on Thiago in the dying stages of the game which had sidelined the latter for a two-month-long stretch.
In an explosive interview with Brazillian YouTuber Pilhado, Richarlison detailed the history of his conversation with the Liverpool FC first-teamer whom the Brazil international accused of leaving his apology text on read.
“The last game I made that challenge on Thiago and got sent off. My goodness,” he said.
“Then I went on Instagram to apologise and such. He only saw it. I said ‘I’m going to delete this message too, since he doesn’t want to reply’.
“Then I went there and deleted it. He didn’t answer, no.”
Richarlison further added that he shared no form of exchange with Thiago as recently as the derby held in February which went Everton’s way and gave the Toffees a first win on the Anfield patch since 1999.
“Then there was the derby now, at their home, he didn’t look at my face, I didn’t look at him, either,” Richarlison added.
“The game goes on. He ignored the pigeon.”
