The prolonged stretch of rumour-mongering concerning Kylian Mbappe and Liverpool FC has gained further ground in the wake of the Frenchman’s recent remarks over the constant media criticism directed towards him.
Mbappe has been long linked with a switch to Merseyside as Jurgen Klopp’s outfit remain in the chase for the World Cup-winning attacker but Paris Saint-Germain have asserted time and again that they intend to retain their marquee player despite interest from other sides.
And now Mbappe has admitted to being tired of the media rant against him which the Frenchman revealed was more difficult for players like him who played for a club in their homeland as opposed to those players which made the trip back to France from international duty.
“Of course it gets tiring,” Mbappe said to RTL.
“Especially when you play for a club in your country and you give everything for your national team. After a while it gets tiring.
“It’s different for players who play abroad and only come back here for the national team.
“I’m there all the time, they speak about me a lot more. It’s a different context [to other players], but I knew it would be like that when I signed for Paris. We’ll see.”
Besides the Reds, La Liga giants Real Madrid are also in the fray to make a move for the 22-year-old Mbappe should he choose to take the exit door out of PSG ahead of the 2021-22 season.
Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is a huge admirer of his compatriot’s talents on the pitch and might look to hijack Liverpool FC’s extended approach for the PSG and France superstar.
