Liverpool set to trigger the on-loan Ozan Kabak’s buy-out clause

Ozan Kabak could soon be a permanent employee at Anfield with Liverpool FC gearing up to trigger the Turkey defender’s buy-out clause which would extend his stay on Merseyside beyond this summer.

Reports from 90Min claim that Kabak’s recent run of consistent displays at the back has convinced the Merseyside club of paying an £18 million worth fee to German club FC Schalke.

Kabak seen as the answer to long-term injuries at Anfield

The likes of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are all the victims to season-ending injury layoffs for Jurgen Klopp’s side and remain a fair way away from returning to full fitness.

With the 21-year-old Kabak forming a formidable centre-back pairing in recent times alongside Nat Phillips, Jurgen Klopp is keen on extending his tenure in the Reds shirt.

Klopp remains on the lookout for additional reinforcements

Kabak’s potential long-term stay at Anfield would be complemented with Liverpool FC dipping in the transfer market to bring in another central defender as Jurgen Klopp plans to shore up his options at the back.

RB Leipzig’s Ibrahima Konate is the player who has been courted significantly by the Reds over the past month or so and if recent reports are anything to go by, the France international could become Klopp’s first purchase of the 2021 summer window.
