Harry Wilson could be a target for former Liverpool man Steven Gerrard who is now at the helm at Scottish outfit Rangers as the summer transfer window fast approaches, according to ex-Rangers defender Michael Ball.
Wilson’s career in the Reds shirt has never really kicked off and on the back of successive loan spells away from the club in recent seasons, the Wales international is poised to seal a permanent exit ahead of the new campaign.
After what has been a quite impressive season for the Liverpool loanee whilst at Cardiff City with seven goals and 11 assists to his name, there are sure to be no shortage of suitors in the market willing to make a swoop for the highly-promising attacking talent who has admitted before that he could be tempted to leave Anfield.
One such club in the reckoning to sign the Welshman is Rangers, says Ball in an interview to This is Futbol, with Ball believing Steven Gerrard’s personal equation with Wilson could help facilitate a move for the 24-year-old winger to the Ibrox.
“Steven’s got that connection with him. He knows of him, so that personal relationship could be a bonus. The money, we’re not too sure what they have to spend, so it all depends if any players move out as well at Rangers.
“If [Alfredo] Morelos moves on, the big money that they’ll get would give Rangers the opportunity to bring Harry and maybe a few others in.”
