Confirmed Lineups: Manchester United vs Liverpool – Mane benched, Firmino starts

Jurgen Klopp decides to go ahead with the young Rhys Williams at centre-back as the Liverpool boss is without Ozan Kabak for his side’s trip to Old Trafford in the North West derby clash.

Sadio Mane drops out of the XI despite enjoying a decent outing last time around in the win over Southampton and replacing him in the frontline is Roberto Firmino.

Big decision to start Williams, Fabinho assumes midfield duties

It is certainly a major decision taken by Jurgen Klopp to draft Rhys Williams into the centre-back role alongside Nat Phillips with the Reds gaffer having played Fabinho in that role earlier.

The Brazil international is, however, slotted into his usual holding midfield position in the centre of the park with both Gini Wijnaldum and Thiago Alcantara appearing on the teamsheet for Liverpool.

Firmino comes in as Mane drops down to the bench

Another surprising omission from the starting eleven is of Sadio Mane with the Senegalese dropping down to the Liverpool bench in spite of getting his name on the scoresheet last time around.

Firmino, who has played the role of a substitute of late, is the entrant into the Reds frontline, replacing Mane, with the Brazillian partnering Diogo Jota and Salah up top on the pitch.

Here is how both sides lineup for the upcoming Premier League fixture:
