Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson seems to have gotten the nod from England manager Gareth Southgate over his inclusion in the 26-man squad for this summer’s UEFA Euros, according to reports from The Mirror.
Such a claim comes in spite of Henderson being sidelined since February with a groin injury which the Reds midfield general sustained in the defeat to city rivals Everton and has curtailed his time on the pitch heading into Sunday’s final league game of the season.
The reports suggest that Southgate had sent two of the national team physio’s to Liverpool’s Kirkby training facility last week to have a closer look at Henderson’s fitness levels following which the 30-year-old Liverpool man got the England gaffer’s seal of approval.
Henderson remains key to The Three Lions’ campaign in the Euros where Southgate’s men are backed as dark horses to clinch the competition with England boasting of the likes of Spurs talisman Harry Kane and Manchester United star Marcus Rashford along with Henderson’s fellow Kopite Trent Alexander-Arnold.

He had recently staged a return to team training as well ahead of the Anfield showdown over the weekend against Crystal Palace in which Jurgen Klopp’s side will be seeking a win to cement their top-four status as the season wraps up.
