Liverpool fans are eager to see Fabinho make his competitive debut after his impressive pre-season. Klopp hasn’t given him any minutes yet. So far, Fabinho was an unused substitute against West Ham and failed to make the matchday squad against Crystal Palace.
Liverpool fans however, can rest assured that their star summer signing isn’t injured. It’s just that he isn’t up to speed with the rest of the squad in terms of the style of play being implemented.
Fabinho was a top player at Monaco and was an integral part of their 2016-17 League winning season. Fabinho when ready to play, could give Liverpool the extra edge over their opponents. He has the ability of being the playmaker from deep that Liverpool need.
Klopp has said that Fabinho still hasn’t adapted to their style of play. He compared Fabinho’s early struggle to Robertson’s just one season ago. Robertson failed to make the Liverpool 11 in his first 3 months at the club. Klopp asked the Liverpool faithful to wait as he promises them that it will be worth it.
Klopp compared Fabinho to Robertson. He said that Robertson is now seen running around Melwood all the time whereas a year ago, he was struggling to get ahead of Moreno.
Klopp justified his decisions by signaling the positional depth he has at his disposal. Naby Keita, Wijnaldum and James Miner have started both the games in the Premier League. The German boss has however suggested he will be shuffling his packs ahead of the Brighton game with Henderson also fit to start.
Positional depth only goes on to signify the strength of the club and given the 100% start to Liverpool’s campaign we must spare some time to Fabinho to unleash his best.
