Fabrizio Romano claims Liverpool not pursuing a move for Brighton man Yves Bissouma

Yves Bissouma is not being eyed by speculated suitors Liverpool in the ongoing summer transfer window for a transfer, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano on his The Here We Go Podcast.

Romano, however, claims that Jurgen Klopp’s side have registered their interest in the highly-rated Brighton star midfielder but are yet to table an offer for Bissouma who is considered as a hot prospect at Anfield.

“Talking about Liverpool, they are scouting him because they consider him an interesting player for the future, but there are no bids, no negotiations from Liverpool.”

“At the moment he is not the main target, they are not working to sign Bissouma; scouting the player is one thing, signing the player is another thing.

“They are not working on signing Bissouma.”

Klopp does have a monumental task to find a replacement in the transfer market for Gini Wijnaldum who is heavily backed to confirm his exit from Liverpool shortly and make the move to long-term chasers FC Barcelona.

There have been previous reports indicating Liverpool can see off this transfer window without dipping in to acquire a midfield player and add to their options which will be one short when Wijnaldum lands in Spain.

It remains to be seen whether Romano’s claims do materialise or not and Klopp looks at some other player to fill the void left by his long-serving Dutchman.
