Lazio’s resolve to be tested by Liverpool with bid for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

One of the best midfield players in the Serie A Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is of interest to Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool with the Reds in line to propose a big-money offer for the Lazio star.

Reports from Il Messaggero claim that the new Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri will be tested to retain his new player amid Liverpool’s willingness to fork out a sizable fee to land the signature of the highly-rated Serbian international.

Klopp has the void left by the long-serving Gini Wijnaldum to fill this summer and the Liverpool boss is heavily tipped to use the transfer window rather than make use of the options currently at his disposal on Merseyside.

Besides the 26-year-old Sergej Milinkovic-Savic who has been one of the key players for Lazio these past couple of seasons, Klopp also has eyed up Brighton’s Yves Bissouma and Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini for a swoop ahead of the next season.

Liverpool, however, face tough competition for the above two names on their list with Arsenal gearing up for their opening bid to Brighton for Bissouma while FC Barcelona have joined the race for Pellegrini.
