Former Liverpool man Luis Suarez admits playing for any other Premier League side would be hard

Anfield hero Luis Suarez believes that turning out for any club in the Premier League other than Liverpool would be hard for him considering his affection for the Reds faithful.

Suarez joined the Merseysiders in January 2011 and left for Catalan giants FC Barcelona in the summer of 2014 following the conclusion of the FIFA World Cup.

The Uruguyan international had been one of the most potent threats in world football whilst he was at Anfield and he came inches close to helping the club to the Premier League title in a race that witnessed Liverpool finish second behind the eventual winner’s Manchester City.

He scored 82 goals in 133 outings in the Liverpool colours and upon being asked whether he would take up the chance to play for a club other than Liverpool in England’s top-flight division, Suarez said that taking into account his good relationship with the Anfield fanbase, it would be very difficult for him to do so.

“Playing for any team other than Liverpool in England would be hard,” said Suare as quoted by The Echo.

“I had, and hope I still do have, such a good relationship with Liverpool fans that it would be strange for me to play for somebody else.

Suarez also spoke about Liverpool’s success in recent years and has voiced delight that the Reds have now put an end to their prolonged search for domestic glory as the Atletico Madrid man added that his former side were back where they belong.

“It would have been special to win the league with Liverpool, but I am glad that their wait is now over.

“They look like a team that will compete for many seasons to come even if this one has not been the best for them. They are back where they belong.”
