Liverpool look interested in Declan Rice swoop but could cost them a club-record fee

West Ham United and England star midfield man Declan Rice is a viable target for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool outfit this summer with the Merseysiders on the hunt for Gini Wijnaldum’s replacement in the market.

Reports from The Express, however, suggest that landing Rice’s much sought after signature ahead of the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United could force Liverpool to fork out a record transfer fee.

Rice has been courted by both Chelsea and Manchester United heading into the UEFA European Championships with England where Rice has been one of the best performers on the pitch for Gareth Southgate’s semi-final contestants.  The Three Lions are due to face Denmark next in the hopes of making it through to the finals.

The youngster has been backed to call it quits at The Hammers in this summer’s transfer window but David Moyes is keen on parting ways with his prized midfield talent only for a hefty fee coming his way which the West Ham boss would invest in new signings to bolster his ranks.

Gini Wijnaldum’s move to PSG has upped the pressure on Klopp to bring in new talent from the transfer market to fill the void left by the Dutchman who decided against extending his stay on Merseyside beyond this summer.
