Mohammad Salah will be staying put at Anfield for the summer despite the Liverpool star forward’s request of representation of his country Egypt at the forthcoming Tokyo Olympics.
Salah had been earlier refused to take part at the Tokyo Olympics this summer by the Reds who want their first-team star up and running for the start of the 2020-21 season which gets underway in less than six weeks from now.
Reports from The Daily Star claim that Salah would have been a major fitness concern for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool should he have been granted permission to turn out at the Tokyo event.
Klopp would like to have his star players in full fitness ahead of the commencement of the new Premier League campaign which is set for August 14 at Carrow Road for Liverpool as they face the league’s new boys Norwich City.
