Rangers and Celtic targeting a summer swoop for Liverpool’s Divock Origi

Liverpool’s Divock Origi is one player in the Anfield camp whose future hangs in the balance with the onset of the summer transfer window and there has been much speculation over his transfer situation.

Reports from the Liverpool Echo now suggest that the Belgium international who has been backed to leave Merseyside this summer is a target for Old Firm rivals Rangers and Celtic which will further give birth to talk over his Anfield future.

Former Liverpool fan-favourite and current Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is joined by new Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou in the race to make a move for Origi who has struggled for first-team involvement in recent seasons on Merseyside.

Origi was handed just three starts by Jurgen Klopp across the 2020-2021 campaign as the Belgian striker struggled to regain his composure in front of the goal which has led to Klopp giving his nod for Origi to be sold ahead of the upcoming campaign.

There has been much interest in the former Lille man from Premier League clubs as well this summer with the likes of Southampton and Crystal Palace believed to be keeping tabs on the Reds outcast.
