Liverpool face Tottenham Hotspur challenge to re-sign Philippe Coutinho

Liverpool are shockingly linked with a reunion with former Anfield fan-favourite Philippe Coutinho who is certain to take the exit door out of Camp Nou in this summer’s transfer window.

Jurgen Klopp’s Merseysiders had earlier been believed to be far from interested in re-signing the once-star name on the Liverpool teamsheet who had joined FC Barcelona in January 2018 after months of drama on the transfer front.

But with the Anfield giants now on the lookout for attacking reinforcements to shore up their existing options before the transfer window slams shut, Klopp might be forced to turn to his former player in what could prove to be a cut-price piece of business on Merseyside this summer.

Reports from Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo claim that Liverpool are in line to face a stern challenge from their Premier League foes Tottenham Hotspur to land Coutinho’s signature with Spurs too keeping close tabs on the 29-year-old Brazilian playmaker.

Spurs’ interest in signing the FC Barcelona outcast could spell out trouble for the player’s old club in Liverpool but Jurgen Klopp could be set to turn to alternative names should he fail to bring back Coutinho to Anfield ahead of the start of the 2021-22 campaign.
