Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is a target in this summer’s transfer window for his former club Southampton who are keeping close tabs on the midfield man.
Reports from TalkSport claim that The Saints are understood to be keen on re-signing the 27-year-old Chamberlain this summer in a season-long loan deal that will run until the end of the 2021-22 campaign.
Chamberlain has seen his first-team action on Merseyside dwindle in recent years with a spree of injury issues and inconsistent form costing him his regular spot on the Liverpool team sheet.
With Jurgen Klopp on the hunt for a fresh face for his side’s midfield department in light of the departure of Gini Wijnaldum, the long-serving Dutchman who has now signed for Paris Saint-Germain, Chamberlain’s exit from the Anfield camp could open up a much-needed space for Klopp to bring in a new signing.
