Liverpool’s star full-back Andy Robertson could be set to make his first league outing of the season next week when Jurgen Klopp’s men face Chelsea on their home turf of Anfield.
Robertson sustained an ankle ligament injury during Liverpool’s pre-season fixture list and was sidelined for the opening day affair at Carrow Road in which the visitors emerged 3-0 victors over the newly promoted Norwich City outfit.
Reports from The Athletic claim that Robertson remains in line to stage his return to the pitch in next weekend’s clash against Thomas Tuchel’s high-flying Chelsea side who are backed to be major contenders for the Premier League crown this time around.
Despite the talk of his return from injury being earlier than expected, the Scott will miss out on the forthcoming game at Anfield which sees Jurgen Klopp’s side welcome Burnley as the Merseyside giants hope to carry on the rich vein of form.
Greece international Kostas Tsimikas started the win over Norwich last time and he is on course to grab a second outing on Saturday against Burnley before Robertson reclaims his left-back role on the starting teamsheet for Liverpool.
