Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson pens a new long-term deal

Andy Robertson has become the latest Anfield star to put pen to paper on extended terms with Liverpool, according to reports from the club’s official website.

Liverpool have been minor players once again in the transfer market but the boss Jurgen Klopp has backed extensions for a host of his star regulars on the teamsheet with the newest addition being the high-flying full-back talent Robertson.

The likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson Becker, Fabinho and Virgil van Dijk have preceded Robertson into signing a long-term extension on Merseyside earlier in the ongoing summer transfer window.

He has not featured for the Merseyside giants this new season owing to an ankle injury sustained in the dying stages of the pre-season fixture list but is in line to return for the upcoming Premier League clash against Chelsea.

Klopp’s men are scheduled to face another in-form outfit in Thomas Tuchel’s Blues who too have recorded two straight wins in league action since the 2021-22 campaign kicked off.
