Liverpool given go-ahead to play Brazilian players for Leeds United clash

FIFA has given the clearance to Liverpool to field the Brazilian trio of Roberto Firmino, Fabinho and Alisson Becker for Sunday’s outing at Elland Road against Leeds United.

The decision comes as a major respite on the squad selection front for the Reds gaffer Jurgen Klopp who would have had to cope in the absence of Fabinho and Alisson both of whom are star regulars at Anfield.

Firmino, despite the removal of the initial ban, is an injury concern for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp which means the 29-year-old is in line to be sidelined for the upcoming fixture in league football.

Reports from The Guardian claim that after long-drawn-out negotiations, Premier League clubs have been cleared to play the Brazil players in their fold for the weekend’s Premier League fixture list.

Liverpool’s opponents for Sunday Leeds United will also benefit from the change in plan with the Whites now able to call upon star forward Raphinha who will be a man to watch out for the Liverpool backline.
