Liverpool are being linked with a shock swoop for Bayern Munich’s talisman Robert Lewandowski for the next summer transfer window, according to reports from Spanish news outlet Fichajes.
The 33-year-old Lewandowski has his stay at the Allianz Arena coming to a close in the summer of 2023 and Jurgen Klopp has zeroed in on the Poland international as a viable target.
With interest shown in landing the veteran forward’s signature from a number of clubs including the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United, Liverpool’s task is sure to be a difficult one despite speculation that Lewandowski is seeking a move to the Premier League.
Jurgen Klopp is understood to be on the hunt for attacking reinforcements to bolster his Anfield roster which witnessed the exits of Xherdan Shaqiri and Harry Wilson earlier this summer leaving Divock Origi as the notable option on the bench.
Origi has been right on the fringes of the Liverpool camp over the past season and a half with sparse first-team football coming his way.
