Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp played down the concerns over Thiago Alcantara’s injury following the 3-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday at Anfield.
Klopp’s men ran out convincing victors over the visiting Eagles outfit who despite showing some sparks of brilliance while going forward were unable to trouble Liverpool on the attacking front.
Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Naby Keita, the latter of whom scored a wonder strike in the closing stages of the game, were the goal-getters for the hosts who have now gone top of the league standings with 13 points out of their five outings so far.
However, a blight for Liverpool amid the securing of another win on the trot was star midfield man Thiago Alcantara limping off the Anfield turf with a calf issue early on in the second half.
Speaking to the reporters in the aftermath of the match, Jurgen Klopp voiced hope of the injury not being as serious as thought of before with the Spain international expected to return to the fold very soon.
“The only little bit that overshadowed [the game] was Thiago, but we hope it is not serious.”
“He felt his calf and now we hope really it is not that serious.”
