Liverpool handed boost as midfielder Naby Keita fit to play Porto clash

Liverpool were handed a much-needed boost on the injury front as midfielder Naby Keita was deemed fit to play the Porto clash on Tuesday night in the Champions League.

Keita had been an injury concern for Jurgen Klopp in Saturday’s thriller against Brentford with the 26-year-old sustaining a problem with his foot during the Carabao Cup win over Norwich City last week.

Neil Jones has reported that Keita staged a return to the Anfield fold with the rest of his teammates and took part in team training ahead of the Liverpool squad making their way to Portugal for their midweek commitments.

Klopp will have the Gineuan international to call upon for his midfield roster with the Liverpool boss already without another specialist in Thiago Alcantara who is not expected to feature before the upcoming international break.

The Spaniard playmaker limped off the pitch in Liverpool’s league win against Crystal Palace and the extent of his injury determined later revealed he was set for a brief period on the sidelines.
