Liverpool target Youri Tielemans is claimed to be eager to leave Leicester City with the midfielder seeking Champions League football at this point of his career, according to reports from The Athletic.
The Belgium international has been a top name on the shopping list for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp since this summer’s transfer window in which the Reds were unable to land Tielemans owing to pricing concerns.
Leicester City remain keen on offering their star first-teamer extended terms beyond the summer of 2023 in which the former Anderlecht player will be free to seal a move elsewhere should he not pen a new deal at the King Power Stadium.
Tielemans was scouted by the Liverpool camp who were backed to bring in a fresh face for the Anfield midfield roster after Gini Wijnaldum’s departure and subsequent move to Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.
Manchester United and La Liga duo Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are also believed to be in the mix for approaching Leicester City for signing Tielemans whose talks with the club over a new contract are underway.
