FC Barcelona set to tie down Liverpool target Pedri to a long-term extension

FC Barcelona are reportedly in line to tie down Liverpool target Pedri to a long-term extension despite the player being linked with a Camp Nou exit.

The Spanish midfield starlet has courted attention from some of the biggest clubs across Europe after his breakthrough season with club and country over the past year and Liverpool have been credited with a strong interest in the teenager.

Jurgen Klopp has been backed to bring in a fresh face for his underwhelming midfield roster sooner rather than later and speculation was rife that the Liverpool boss was eyeing up a swoop for Pedri next summer.

FC Barcelona, however, have acted quickly to ward off the increasing interest in their midfielder’s services and are set to announce the extension of Pedri’s stay at Camp Nou until the summer of 2026, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The other names rumoured to be high on Liverpool’s shopping list for the upcoming transfer windows are Brighton maestro Yves Bissouma and AS Monaco’s in-demand 21-year-old Aurélien Tchouaméni.
