Liverpool find themselves in a five-way contest for Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio who is keen to call it quits in the Spanish capital and seal a move elsewhere sooner rather than later.
Asensio’s lack of regular minutes on the pitch for Carlo Ancelotti’s side has given birth to rumours that the attacker could be forced to leave the Santiago Bernebeu for greener pastures.
Reports from Spanish news outlet El Nacional have backed Liverpool to be in the widely-contested race alongside the likes of Arsenal, Juventus, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund for landing Asensio’s signature.
Jurgen Klopp is understood to be on the search for reinforcements in the attacking department and should Asensio be made available by Real Madrid in the forthcoming transfer windows, the player will be a name eyed up by the Reds camp.
Klopp is in line to lose his star duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane for a crunch period come January with the forward pairing set to take part in the African Cup of Nations with their respective national teams.
