New FC Barcelona boss Xavi is reportedly eyeing up a move for Liverpool’s Thiago Alcantara who was his former teammate at Camp Nou.
Thiago and Xavi played together between 2009 and 2013 in the FC Barcelona shirt and the latter now has his old midfield partner on his radar just days after taking the top job at the La Liga heavyweights.
Dani #Alves is one of the players who can return to the Catalan club. Negotiations have already started.🇧🇷
Another player who may return to Camp nou is…#Thiago, the player is very appreciated by #Xavi, who will have already talked to Joan #Laporta about a possible return.🇪🇸#FCB https://t.co/hrE5QgJGzK pic.twitter.com/JqMp0LQ9cT

According to Portuguese journalist Pedro Almeida’s report, Xavi has kickstarted talks with the club president Joan Laporta over making a swoop for the Liverpool maestro who made the switch to Anfield only last summer.
Thiago has three years left on his current deal with Jurgen Klopp’s camp and it looks unlikely that the Spain international will be in line to call it quits on Merseyside for a shock reunion with Xavi at FC Barcelona despite the new manager’s interest.
The former Bayern Munich man has had a run-in with injury troubles early on in this campaign but was a recent returnee to the Liverpool fold as he featured in the first defeat of the season for Jurgen Klopp’s men against West Ham United.
