Joel Matip’s return to the starting XI for Liverpool is the sole change made by Jurgen Klopp for the derby game against Everton at Goodison Park.
Liverpool head into the midweek contest on the back of a three-game winning run and hopes are high for the Reds to emerge victors over their fierce city rivals.
Matip replaces Konate at centre-back
Ibrahima Konate had started the last game against Southampton but the Frenchman drops down to the bench for today with Joel Matip slotting in at centre-back.
The Cameroonian’s return is the only tinkering done by the boss Klopp whose players are bursting with confidence and are in a rich vein of form.
Unchanged midfield and attack for the visitors
Thiago Alcantara and Jordan Henderson start in the centre of the park with Fabinho operating in the defensive midfield role behind his two teammates.
High-flying forward man Diogo Jota leads the line for Liverpool and joining him in the final third are Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
