Liverpool star forward Mohamed Salah admitted to being flattered by the rumours of FC Barcelona’s interest in his signature ahead of the next summer.
Salah’s superb start to the new campaign with Jurgen Klopp’s Merseysiders has firmed his credentials as one of the best players in world football with the Egyptian on red hot form in front of the goal.
Following the appointment of club icon Xavi to the managerial reigns, there has been speculation that the Catalan outfit Barcelona have Salah’s name on the shopping list for the forthcoming transfer windows.
With the 29-year-old’s future on Merseyside looking bleak amid the contract standoff between the player and the Liverpool board, Salah was pressed upon his links with the Camp Nou giants while speaking to the Egyptian broadcaster MBC ( via Goal).
The Reds frontman, however, asserted he has committed to turning out in the Premier League for the Merseysiders but said he was “happy” to hear that Barcelona want to land his signature.
“I read what was said about Xavi’s interest to sign me.”
“This is something that makes me happy that a team like Barcelona is interested in me, but I’m happy in Liverpool and we will see what happens in the future.”
“At the moment, I prefer to stay in the Premier League as it’s the strongest league in the world.”
