Atalanta and AC Milan in the mix for Liverpool striker Divock Origi

Serie A clubs Atalanta and AC Milan are reportedly in the mix for Liverpool striker Divock Origi ahead of the January transfer window which opens in less than a month.

The Belgium international has been a squad player for the Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp in recent years but made a name for himself once again of late following his exploits in front of the goal.

Origi found the back of the net deep inside stoppage time to give Liverpool a 1-0 win over Wolves and was on the scoresheet in the group game win at San Siro in the Champions League.

According to reports from the Italian news outlet Tutto Mercato, both Atalanta and AC Milan are credited with a strong interest in securing Origi’s signature despite concerns over the player’s wage demands should he leave Anfield.

AC Milan’s hunt for a replacement for the veteran Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic has made Origi a top name on the wishlist while Atalanta look for reinforcements in light of the speculation that surrounds their star strike Luis Muriel’s future.
