Jurgen Klopp positive over Liverpool’s ongoing contract talks with Mohamed Salah

Jurgen Klopp said he remains positive over Liverpool’s ongoing contract talks with Mohamed Salah whose future at Anfield continues to attract speculation.

The Egypt international forward has 18 months to go on his current terms with the Liverpool side and has asserted he is keen to renew terms despite the long drawn out standoff between the player’s representatives and the club.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, the Liverpool boss Klopp insisted he is not worried about the pace of the talks currently underway with Salah and his camp who are believed to be holding out for a major wage hike.

“We are in really good conversations.” 

“I want it to happen, but when? I couldn’t care less.”

Klopp’s remarks on Salah’s contract negotiations will sure come as a much-needed respite for the Reds fanbase who are eager for their club to tie down the Egyptian wide player to a new long-term contract on Merseyside.Salah has beeen immense in his displays in the final third for Liverpool so far in this campaign with 22 strikes across all competitions as he leads the Premier League’s goalscoring charts with ease.
