Liverpool prepared to table offer for Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips

Liverpool are understood to be prepared to table an offer for Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips with a bid north of £30 million in the offing to land the signature.

According to reports from the Spanish news outlet El Nacional, it is claimed that Phillips, who is a top name on the shopping list for La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid, is being eyed up by the Liverpool camp.

Jurgen Klopp’s Merseysiders are readying a £33.4 million bid for the 26-year-old England international with the midfield man looking for a move away from Elland Road sooner rather than later.

Leeds would be reluctant to part ways with Phillips who has proven to be one of the most influential figures under Marcelo Bielsa’s management and has also caught the fancy of Real Madrid with a move to Spain tipped to be on the cards.

The Liverpool manager Klopp has long been expected to dip into the transfer market for a new signing to bolster his midfield ranks following the exit of the long-serving anchorman Gini Wijnaldum in the summer window.
