Fabinho Ready To Be Used- Says Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he is finally ready to use summer signing Fabinho in the Champions League game against Red Star Belgrade tonight.

After a big money purchase from AS Monaco in the summer transfer window, it finally seems like Brazilian midfielder Fabinho is prepared to take up a starting role in Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool team. Fabinho arrived at Anfield for a fee of £40 million but has made just four appearances for Liverpool this season with most of them coming off the bench.

Liverpool currently has a host of injured players with Englishman Alex Oxlade Chamberlain set to miss a major part of this season. Club captain Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita are also nursing hamstring injuries which have popped up the opportunity for Fabinho to get the nod to start his first game in the Champions League this season as the 51-year-old confirmed Fabinho’s inclusion.

While speaking to reporters ahead of the Red Star Belgrade game in the Champions League, the German boss revealed that he is prepared to give the 25-year-old Brazilian midfielder the nod after slowly adapting to life at Liverpool. Klopp was asked whether it’s time to give Fabinho his start with the injuries around the club to which he replied, “Yes, it’s clear [he could play]. It’s his birthday by the way so would be a nice present. It is as always, it’s got better and better and better and better and now it’s good.”

Klopp was also asked whether Fabinho would start his first game in the Champions League this term to which he responded, “Yes, we will see. I didn’t make the line-up how we will start but of course, it is very important for us he’s here for a few months already, got used to a few things. So we will use him.”

Fabinho has waited a long time for this opportunity and he will probably grab it with both hands and try to nail down a starting berth for himself.
