Liverpool’s recent injury-enforced absentee of late Thiago Alcantara returns to the XI for Liverpool who take on Inter Milan in the midweek contest at Anfield.
Also returning to the team sheet for the home side is Diogo Jota who was left out on the bench last time around in the 1-0 win over West Ham United.
Matip replaces Konate in the backline
Joel Matip reclaims his spot in the heart of the defence at the expense of the Frenchman Ibrahima Konate who drops down to the bench.
Matip partners Virgil van Dijk in the centre-back slots while Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson fill in the wing-back roles on either side.
Jota leads the line
In the centre of the park, skipper Jordan Henderson is benched with the returning Thiago Alcantara joining the ranks with Curtis Jones and Fabinho.
Portugal international Jota, making his way into the attacking lineup for Liverpool, has Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah as his strike partners.
