Jurgen Klopp confirms Mohamed Salah injury boost ahead of Arsenal clash

Jurgen Klopp confirmed that star forward Mohamed Salah was in contention to make the Liverpool team sheet ahead of the Arsenal clash on Wednesday night.

Salah was brought off the pitch last time around in the 2-0 win over Brighton with a foot problem even as the 29-year-old was his clinical self from the penalty spot to double Liverpool’s advantage on the day.

He has been the top performer in the Anfield ranks over the course of the season with his 20 strikes in the top flight campaign so far putting him far ahead in the race to clinch the coveted Golden Boot.

Following the Egypt international sitting out training earlier this week in the build-up to the midweek Emirates Stadium showdown, there had been the talk of Salah’s injury getting aggravated.

Jurgen Klopp, however, played down the rising fears in his pre-match presser with the Liverpool boss sounding out hope on the injury front by saying that Salah was in line to take part in training on Tuesday and would be assessed further.

“It looks like Mo is a tough cookie. We were quite lucky with it.

“It was swollen and painful but yesterday a little less swollen, less painful. I got a message before the press conference that he is ready to train and we will see how it looks.”
