Liverpool face competition from Bologna for Aberdeen starlet Calvin Ramsay

Liverpool are reportedly in line to fend off competition from Bologna in the chase for Aberdeen starlet Calvin Ramsay this summer.

Ramsay has emerged on the transfer radar at Anfield with the 18-year-old full-back impressing Jurgen Klopp with his stellar run of displays in Scotland’s top flight over the course of the campaign.

With Liverpool keen to bolster their defensive ranks ahead of the start of the next campaign and provide cover in the right-back role occupied by Trent Alexander-Arnold, there had been talk of Liverpool pushing for a move to sign Ramsay.

According to a report from The Scotsman, however, Liverpool will now face more competition for the teenager’s signature with Serie A outfit Bologna returning to the table after failing to strike out a deal earlier this year in the January transfer window.

Bologna are set to revive their long-standing interest in the Aberdeen first-team talent which would complicate matters for the Liverpool camp who are expected to look out for bargain deals this summer after splashing the cash on Luis Diaz’s recruitment.
