RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku viewed as Mohamed Salah’s replacement at Anfield

RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku is reportedly viewed as Mohamed Salah’s long-term replacement at Anfield by the Liverpool camp.

Speculation continues to persist over the future of Salah in the Reds shirt beyond this summer despite the Egypt international insisting he was to stay put for the upcoming season amidst his long-standing contract impasse.

Liverpool, however, are willing to prepare contingency plans should Salah choose to head out the exit door come 2023 when his deal is up for renewal with Jurgen Klopp’s side eyeing up a move for the in-demand Christopher Nkunku, according to a report from the Spanish publication Todo Fichajes.

The Frenchman was in flying form this season for Leipzig, notching up incredible numbers of 35 goals in 52 games over the course of the 2021-22 campaign, which won him the Bundesliga Player of the Year.

Liverpool are not the only heavyweight from England’s top flight watching Nkunku with great interest as Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea are also understood to be readying an offer with the aim of adding to their attacking ranks in the transfer window.
