Liverpool are now understood to be in the final stages of wrapping up negotiations to sign Darwin Nunez from Benfica for a club-record transfer fee.
Should the deal be closed on Sunday, as is expected by many, Nunez will have his medical examinations on Monday with Jurgen Klopp set to make the 22-year-old Urugyuan forward his marquee signing for this summer’s transfer window.
