Liverpool to allow Neco Williams to leave only on a permanent basis

Liverpool will allow Neco Williams to leave this summer only on a permanent basis with a loan exit for the Welshman ruled out, according to a report from The Liverpool Echo.

Williams has been tipped to call it quits at Anfield before the transfer window comes to a close with Liverpool willing to part ways with the young full-back who has struggled to obtain regular game time for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

With the arrival of the 18-year-old Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen in Liverpool’s third recruitment of the summer, the door is wide open for Williams to leave the Reds camp permanently with no shortage of suitors in the market for the Wales international.

Fulham and Nottingham Forest both are expected to be serious contenders for his signature with the former, on the back of their promotion to the top flight, likely to step up their interest in their former loan player.

Liverpool have slapped a £15 million price-tag on the right-back’s head which could help bring in a sizable fee at Anfield where Klopp has been active in his spending so far on overhauling his ranks.
