Top Pundit And Football Legend claims Aaron Ramsey Would Be Great For Liverpool

Former Liverpool star Steve McMahon has stated that Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey would be a great fit for Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp.

With Liverpool sitting in 2nd place on the Premier League table, the only fear for their fans would be the strength in depth for the club. The deal that fell through for Lyon’s Nabil Fekir meant that Liverpool didn’t have a quality playmaker in their squad who can pull the strings in midfield.

However, the Reds may not have to look far away for their next midfielder as Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey’s contract deal runs out at the end of next summer. The 27-year-old has been linked with a number of top clubs across Europe but Liverpool legend Steve McMahon believes that Ramsey could be the missing link for Jurgen Klopp’s team.

While speaking as a pundit on Sky Sports the 57-year-old former Englishman stated that Ramsey, who is eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with other clubs in January would be a great addition for Klopp’s Liverpool, “Liverpool would do well to get him. He’s a midfield player who goes beyond the strikers and Liverpool hasn’t got that. Liverpool has got good midfield players that play in front, they’ve got top strikers who score goals and have got pace, good defenders.”

McMahon went on to explain that Ramsey’s quality in the Premier League and experience could be a bonus for the Merseyside club, “But when it’s a bit of a stalemate, they haven’t got someone to go ahead, the third man running, not just to try and get a goal but to take the players away and open the space up. Ramsey is one of those players and is a goal scoring midfield player with great technique.”

We all saw that Jurgen Klopp did manage to bring the best out of Alex Oxlade Chamberlain when the Englishman moved from Arsenal to Liverpool last summer. However, with Xherdan Shaqiri and Naby Keita all performing well at Liverpool, there may be a massive competition for a starting berth at the club.
