Liverpool are open to accepting the right offer for midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and will not stand in the player’s way should he want to leave in this summer’s transfer window.
Chamberlain’s future has attracted much speculation in recent weeks with the former Arsenal man entering the final 12 months of his current deal at Anfield ahead of the start of the new season.
The England international has failed to cement a regular berth on the Liverpool team sheet and appeared to have fallen out of favour completely with the boss Jurgen Klopp towards the backend of the previous campaign.
According to a report from The Athletic’s James Pearce, despite suggestions that Liverpool were not willing to part ways with Chamberlain this summer, an offer of around £10 million could convince Klopp on sanctioning an exit for the midfield man.
The decision, however, will rest with the player, claims Pearce, and should Chamberlain want to stay put at Anfield beyond the transfer window, Liverpool will be delighted to count on his services as a squad player.
