Liverpool are reportedly keen on moving in for Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic with Jurgen Klopp facing an injury crisis in his midfield ranks.
The Reds lost Thiago Alcantara to a hamstring problem in the Premier League opener against Fulham over the weekend with the Spanish maestro joining fellow midfielders Curtis Jones, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on the sidelines.
Liverpool appeared to be done with their transfer business this summer after bringing in Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay but the recent injury concerns are likely to convince Klopp to add to his new recruits.
According to a report from Sky Sports, Liverpool are considering a swap deal for bringing Brozovinc to Anfield with either Roberto Firmino or Naby Keita going the other way to get the deal over the line.
There had been a strong expectation that Liverpool will make a formal approach for Klopp’s top target, Jude Bellingham, come the summer of 2023 which is when Borussia Dortmund are willing to negotiate an agreement for his sale.
